Holi is a Hindu spring festival celebrated in India, Pakistan and Nepal, and is also known as the “festival of colours” or the “festival of love”. It also marks the end of winter.

According to Hindu religion, Holi is a celebration of the victory of good over evil and is held a day after the symbolic burning of an effigy of Holika, the sister of demon king Hiranyakashipu who tried to kill her nephew Prahlad for his devotion to Lord Narayana.
