PM reiterates govt’s commitment to protect rhinos
Reiterating the Union government's commitment to protect rhinos, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the citizens on Sunday to visit Kaziranga National Park in Assam.
Later in the day, he is scheduled to unveil the 125-foot-tall “Statue of Valour,” a tribute to the esteemed Ahom general Lachit Barphukan, in Jorhat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on an elephant and jeep safari in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park during his inaugural visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site on Saturday.
His journey follows his arrival in Kaziranga on Friday night as part of a two-day tour of the state.
Later in the day, he is scheduled to unveil the 125-foot-tall “Statue of Valour,” a tribute to the esteemed Ahom general Lachit Barphukan, in Jorhat.

Following this, the prime minister will proceed to Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat district to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various state and federal projects collectively worth over Rs 18,000 crore.
Moreover, he is anticipated to address a public gathering at the same venue.
