Dr Manmohan Singh’s life teaches future generations how to rise above adversity and achieve great heights: PM
PM Modi paid tributes to Dr Singh at his residence on Friday. He said, "India will forever remember his contribution to our nation."
Dedicating development projects in MP worth more than Rs 17,000 crore at a ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Madhya Pradesh’ event through video conferencing, the PM said, “this slogan is reverberating all over the country and it has not been coined by the BJP but by the people themselves.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that it is for the first time that the people of the country have themselves coined the slogan, ‘abki baar, 400 paar’ to see the return of their favourite BJP government.

During the function, the PM dedicated a ‘Vikramaditya Vedic watch’ set up at Ujjain. “We have set up the world’s first Vedic watch at Ujjain,” he said.
“Our government is proof that we take our heritage and development together,” the PM asserted.
He said that forming the government was not just a target for the BJP but a medium for further all-round development. “In our third term, we will make India the world’s third largest economic power,” the PM assured.
He said that the various irrigation projects being dedicated to the public today also mark the difference between the Congress and the BJP governments. “During the Congress rule before 2014, only 40 lakh hectare area of the country was covered by micro-irrigation projects. Today that area has increased to 90 lakh hectares,” the PM claimed.
“BJP ka matlab, gati bhi aur pragati bhi,” he commented. The PM said that considering the problems of storing grains, faced mainly by small and marginal farmers due to lack of warehousing facilities, the union government is working on a project to build the largest storage facility in the world.
“We are going to build many storage facilities across the country that would be able to store more than 700 lakh metric tonnes of grains,” the PM said. He informed that more than Rs 1.25 lakh crore would be spent on the mega project.
The PM said that once India was a big manufacturing hub but the previous Congress government destroyed that. “In the toy sector, we were importing foreign toys for the past many years. But now, we are manufacturing so many toys that they are being exported too and our import of foreign toys has markedly reduced,” the PM pointed out.
Mr Modi said that India’s fame has increased manifolds across the globe in the past nine years and Indians are getting huge respect abroad. He said many foreign investors want to come to India now.
The PM said that 25 crore people of India had come out of poverty during the BJP rule. “It is Modi’s guarantee to resolve all problems of the poor, the mothers and daughters,” he stated.
The PM assured that in the next five years, the country would have many lakhpati Didis in villages and Namo Drone Didis in the agricultural fields.
The ‘NaMo Drone Didi Initiative’ was announced by PM Modi on 15 August last year to train 15,000 women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the use of agricultural drones.
The PM said that the development of the country could not be expected without the development of all states. He asserted that the double-engine government of the BJP was leaving no stone unturned to make the lives of the people easy through holistic development of the country in all sectors.
