Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday remembered independence activist Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary.
"Remembering Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary. His service to India and struggles for the rights of the marginalised always inspire," the Prime Minister tweeted.

Popularly known as Babuji, the Dalit leader from Bihar served as the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister under former Prime Minister Morarji Desai's government.
