"Building on our recent discussions, we will review the progress of various joint initiatives and decisions," Modi said ahead of his trip to Portugal.
On Friday, PM Modi wrote on his Facebook page: "Our close historical and friendly ties have picked up momentum after Prime Minister Antonio Costa’s visit to India in January 2017."
"I am looking forward to my meeting with PM Costa. Building on our recent discussions, we will review the progress of various joint initiatives and decisions. We will also discuss ways to further enhance the bilateral engagement," he said.
PM Modi is the second Indian Prime Minister to visit Portugal. Earlier, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee attended a European Union meeting in Lisbon in 2000.
Prime Minister Modi will travel to the Netherlands on 27 June where he will have a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and call on King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima.
