The Prime Minister arrived in the national capital after casting his vote in the Assembly elections of Gujarat and was welcomed by BJP national president JP Nadda at the party headquarters.

Modi, Nadda and other leaders attended the opening session of the two-day national office bearers’ meeting of the BJP at the party headquarters in the national capital.

Besides the national office bearers of the party, in-charge and co-in-charge of all the states, state presidents and organization general secretaries of all states have also been called for the meeting.

Presided over by Nadda, the meeting will deliberate on the strategies and preparations for the state Assembly elections next year, sources said.

Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, along with three north-eastern states — Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya — will go to the polls next year.

Various organisational activities from booth committees will also be discussed, the sources said. According to the party sources, the meeting has been called to discuss the strategy and preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Also in attendance are National General Secretaries Dushyant Gautam, Bhupender Yadav, Baijayant Panda, Tarun Chugh, and CT Ravi.

In addition, BJP state president of UP Bhupendra Chaudhary, Uttarakhand party president Mahendra Bhatt and other state unit presidents are also participating in the meeting.

A senior BJP leader said: “In view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2023 Vidhan Sabha elections, details about the government’s achievements will be discussed in the meeting and along with strategies to strengthen the organisation. The functioning of the organisation will also be reviewed in the meeting.”

Considering India’s G-20 Presidency a major achievement, the party will also outline programmes linked with it to apprise the people about the country’s growing global influence under the leadership of PM Modi, he said further.

Earlier, in a statement issued on Sunday, the BJP said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day national office-bearers’ meeting of the BJP at the party headquarters in Delhi on Monday. The Prime Minister will guide the party officials through his address. On Monday morning, Prime Minister Modi will cast his vote for the Gujarat Assembly elections in Ahmedabad after which he will immediately leave for Delhi.”

“The national office-bearers’ meeting will be presided over by the party president JP Nadda. All the national office-bearers of the party, in-charges and co-in-charges of all states, in-charges of various fronts, state presidents and general secretaries of state organisations will participate in the meeting. At the meeting, future strategies of the party will be discussed along with reviewing the preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in some states next year.”

With the Assembly elections in Gujarat coming to an end, the BJP is now looking to focus on Telangana to gear up for the polls due next year. As part of its preparations, the saffron party is planning to use the services of its top leadership to bolster the prospects in the state.

The BJP national president will visit Telangana on December 16 to address a public meeting marking the culmination of the fifth phase of the ‘Praja Sangram Yatra’ of BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

Nadda will address the meeting in Karimnagar, the Lok Sabha constituency represented by Bandi Sanjay.

With Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislator, K Kavitha’s name figuring in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe in the Delhi liquor policy scam and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also serving her notice in connection with the same case, the BJP is apparently looking to step up the attack on TRS on its home turf.
