In multiple tweets in Malayalam, Hindi, English and Kannada languages, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter on Friday to extend greetings to the people of Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala on the occasion of states’ formation day.

PM Modi also tweeted the translated English version of the tweet greeting people of Karnataka and Kerala in their local language.

He described Chhattisgarh as a treasure trove of natural beauty and hoped that the state with varieties of culture would continue to stride on the path of progress.

For Karnataka foundation day, he tweeted, “Karnataka Rajyotsava is a day to celebrate the outstanding contribution of Karnataka towards India’s progress. The state’s natural beauty and people’s warm-hearted nature are well known. Praying for Karnataka’s development in the times to come.”

In a tweet in Hindi for Madhya Pradesh, Modi congratulated the people of the state on Formation Day. He also wished that the state continues its stride towards the path of success.

“On Kerala Piravi day, greetings to my sisters and brothers of Kerala. People from this state have made remarkable contributions to the nation. May the people of the state be happy and prosperous,” the Prime Minister said in a tweet.

Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala were formed on this day in the year 1956 with the passage of State Reorganisation Act. Haryana was established in 1966 while Chattisgarh in 2000.
