Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said people’s enthusiasm and their large turnout at his rallies were proof that the nation trusts “Modi’s guarantee”, adding that only one slogan of “abki baar, 400 paar (this time, BJP is getting more than 400 seats)” is heard everywhere.

Addressing a massive rally in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, after launching development projects worth Rs 35,700 crores in Sindri, he said in the last 10 years, 25 crore people have come out of poverty. When their lives can change, those left out have a reason to trust ‘Modi’s guarantee’.

He said dreams of the poor are resolutions for him and he is devoting his day and night to this. “I want the poor to come out of their life of deprivation,” he said. Mr Modi said he stands for Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jharkhand, the State transforming with developed India.

The Prime Minister said the Sindri fertiliser plant had revived today, did anyone believe this would happen. He said he had made a guarantee for this in 2018 and the plant was inaugurated today.

“You had taken locks on the plant premises for granted. But this was Modi’s guarantee. The revived plant will create thousands of jobs and benefit farmers in east India. Vikas (development) and fast Vikas is what BJP stands for,” he said.

On the other hand, the Congress and its associates are biggest enemies of development, he said. The North Karanpura power plant foundation was laid in the last century by late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and then the Congress government came, and the project was abandoned. Then Modi came and the plant today lights many homes, he said.

“Modi took care of the poor who did not have electricity. First time, free power connections have been given under Saubhagya scheme, including one lakh in Dhanbad also. This confirmed Modi’s guarantee comes into play when people have given up hope,” he said.

Development at a good pace in Jharkhand requires that the State should have a sound law and order situation, and the administration should be honest, he said. But ever since a family-based, corrupt and appeasement-following government of the JMM and Congress took over, things are in a bad shape. JMM now stands for “jamkhar ke khao,” (make money to the extent possible), he said.

Abductions are increasing in Jharkhand, infiltration is increasing due to appeasement, he said. The JMM–Congress leaders have only a job before them, fill up their coffers by looting Jharkhand people, and amass benami property. Mountains of currency of notes were seen in the State.

“This was your money. This belonged to poor adivasis of the State, this was meant for your children’s future; this was looted, will you forgive such people, will you let somebody loot your money and allow this dishonesty,” he said.

“Should there be action against such corrupt people or not,” he asked. “Should they not spend their lives in jails, the looted money will have to be returned. This is Modi’s guarantee,” he said.

When Modi takes action against such corrupt people, they make excuses, and try to run away from investigations, because they know the reality, he said.

The Prime Minister said the JMM and Congress have treated the tribals as vote banks only. “Jharkhand has so many talented tribal people, but they will not let them come up in life; they can only think of their families, whereas Modi worries only about you, for the future of your children.”

“The JMM leaders belong to one family, will they worry about your children or their own family? For me, you are my family, the sound future of your children is my guarantee,” he said.

He said whenever his government conceives development projects for Dhanbad, or its surrounding areas, the INDI alliance creates hurdles in their way. These people opposed the free foodgrain scheme launched by the Government during Covid-19.

They want it stopped. Should it not continue, he asked. Should Modi serve the poor? Whatever pressure they may put, Modi will not stop it and continue it in future also so that the poor have food every day.

Jharkhand people migrate to many States for work, they are in Gujarat, and on the border also. “I have met them, they will get free rations wherever they are. The government started the One nation, one ration card scheme for this,” he said.

“Even for giving pucca houses, the INDI alliance is creating obstructions, and taking cuts. The INDI alliance government in the State is anti-Vikas and anti-Janata, they have no vision other than opposing development, whereas Modi wants to ensure you get your due,” he said.

“Benefits and payments under various schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, SC/ST scholarship, MGNREGA are transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts directly, and the INDI alliance middlemen are not getting any commission. Why will they not abuse me, but it does not affect me due to your blessings and I thank you for this,” he said.

“It is my firm belief, the more mud they throw around, the more lotuses (BJP’s party symbol) will bloom,” he said. The BJP stands for tribal welfare and the creation of a separate State of Jharkhand is a proof of that; it is the BJP which provided a separate Tribal Ministry and raised its budget five times in the last 10 years. For the most backward tribals, the government started a Rs 24,000 crore PM Jan Man Yojana for their housing and employment opportunities,” he said.
