Calling Locket Chatterjee a ‘missing BJP MP’, Trinamul Congress leaders said people of Hooghly do not want an absentee parliamentarian any more.
The sitting BJP MP Locket Chatterjee is contesting against Rachana Bandyopadhyay of Trinamul Congress from Hooghly Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 election.

Trinamul Congress leaders alleged that in the past five years Mrs Chatterjee did not visit her constituency. As a result, people of the area mobbed her when she visited Hooghly last week. She alleged that some workers within the party are not cooperating with her. They were absent when she visited the place.
Trinamul Congress leaders in the X handle wrote: “BJP MP get elected, disappear for 5 years and emerge like scavengers during elections, begging for votes. Not anymore. @me_ locket faced a brutal reality check in Hooghly. She abandoned people during COVID 19 and now people are outright rejecting her. It’s crystal clear: serve the people or step down. Bengal won’t tolerate Missing MPs anymore.”
Though Mrs Chatterjee started writing walls before her name was announced as a candidate from Hooghly, she did not receive cooperation from some party leaders and workers.
