With his joining, Yadav has merged his party with the Congress.
The former parliamentarian expressed his gratitude to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, and top leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. He vowed to strengthen the party in Bihar.
“The ideology of the Congress family and the party has always given me energy. My history has been to protect and respect the ideology of people of every religion. My political base is completely secular,” he said.
Yadav added that he will work to further strengthen the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Congress’ Bihar in-charge Prakash said, “We welcome Pappu Yadav ji into the Congress family. Our party will strengthen with his joining.”
Heaping praise on Yadav, Khera said, “Everyone knows about him. He is a prominent leader. This is not an ordinary merger, it is a historic one.”
The Congress received yet another shot in the arm as former BSP leader and MP from UP’s Amroha, Danish Ali also joined the party.
