Acquitted in the murders of their teenage daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, dentist couple – Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, who were to be released from jail on Friday may now finally walk free on Monday due to delays caused by paperwork, officials said.
According to Manoj Sisodia, one of the lawyers representing Talwar, they are yet to receive the Allahabad High Court acquitting the couple.

“We haven’t got the Allahabad HC order (acquitting Talwars) yet. Once we get it, we will submit it in the CBI court and only then will they (Talwars) be released,” he told the media.
“If the orders are issued after lunch, they won’t reach here from Allahabad on time. Tomorrow is Saturday followed by Sunday… so, it is likely that they will get out only on Monday,” he added.
As per earlier reports, the couple was likely to walk out of Dasna jail in Ghaziabad by 4 pm, a day after being acquitted by the court.
A bench of Justice BK Narayana and Justice AK Mishra set free the couple in the murder of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar at their Jalvayu Vihar home in Noida on May 16, 2008 overturning a Special CBI Court judgment which convicted them for the murders.
The Talwars then appealed in the Allahabad High Court against the verdict.
