The Odisha government on Wednesday announced Rs 25,000-a-month honorarium to Padma awardees from the State in recognition of their achievement in various fields.
“The Padma Award is the country’s glorious civilian honour. This honor is given to individuals who have brought glory to the country in various fields. Padma awardees have also brought laurels to Odisha through their talent and service”, a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said.
In recognition of their laudable contribution to the society, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided to pay an honorarium of Rs 25 thousand per month in their honour. This honorarium will be paid from the month of April this year, the statement concluded.
