Odisha Govt plans to amend cow slaughter prevention act: CM Mohan Majhi
The chief minister was speaking at the ‘Monsoon Meet 2024’ being hosted for the first time in the State by the union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
The Centre on Saturday withdrew the controversial order banning the sale of cattle for slaughter in markets.
The order, issued in May this year, sought to curb cruelty to animals but sparked off a nation-wide row with several states objecting to the Centre’s action.
