Opposition parties criticised the Uttar Pradesh budget 2023-24 tabled by the Yogi Adityanath Government in the state assembly saying it has failed to meet any demand of the suffering people.
While the Opposition has criticised the Uttar Pradesh budget 2023-24 tabled by the Yogi Adityanath Government in the state assembly on Wednesday saying it has failed to meet any demand of the suffering people, BJP leaders hailed it as a historic budget. The BJP leaders claimed that the budgetary proposals will fulfill the aspirations of 25 crore population of the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the grand budget of Rs 6,90,242.43 crore for the financial year 2023-24 under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will lay a strong foundation to fulfill the grand resolution of self-reliant UP.
UP BJP president Bhupendra Singh Choudhary, in a statement, said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the budget to fulfill the resolution of self-reliant UP.

“Gratitude to CM Yogi Adityanath and Finance Minister Suresh Khanna for the public welfare budget. The budget will strengthen the determination of the economic prosperity of the state and the people of the state from the Global Investors Summit,” claimed the BJP’s state president.
He said the budget was dedicated to Antyodaya, fulfilling the aspirations and expectations of the people.
However, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, called the budget directionless which, he said, has no solution to today’s problems nor a possibility for the future.
“There is nothing for farming, farmers, and youth. The budget is disappointing. This is going to disappoint women, farmers and youth,” he claimed.
Yadav said that the chief minister and the finance minister talk of a trillion dollar economy, but they should tell what the growth rate of the state is. Will the economy of UP be able to become a trillion dollar economy with this growth rate? It doesn’t happen just by giving lectures and doing nothing on the ground, he added.
On the ease of doing business of the government, he said there is only ‘ease of doing crime’ in UP.
SP general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav in a tweet has said that today’s budget is a salute to the juggling of figures by the bureaucracy.
BSP president Maywati in a series of tweets said, “The budget presented today in the assembly by the UP government is less for public interest and public welfare and again a box of promises regarding the coming Lok Sabha elections. Will this unrealistic budget fulfill the interest and welfare of the people here and the claim of becoming India’s growth engine? Debt-ridden UP needs an employment-oriented budget, not an illusionary one”.
She said, “UP BJP government, keeping in mind its widely publicized announcements, promises and claims, is now before the public without actions to remove the poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, backwardness and anarchy etc. Why betrayal?”
The BSP president said, “In view of the Lok Sabha general elections, the UP government has not kept the honest report card of the previous budget in front of the people before making new misleading promises and claims. It is clear that the ground reality of per capita income and development in the BJP’s double engine government is false propaganda and rhetoric.”
Congress Rajya Sabha member Pramod Tiwari said the budget of the state government is completely disappointing. “Public got nothing but darkness in this budget,” he claimed.
“On the one hand, where there is no mention of loan waiver of farmers in this budget, there is no satisfactory provision for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) set by the Central government,” he pointed out.
Tiwari said there is no concrete solution for the youth of the state who are facing the problem of unemployment.
