BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav on Monday said that the opposition can keep on dreaming of a victory in the Lok Sabha polls till May 23, the day on which results will be declared.

His comments come a day after the exit polls which predicted a full majority for the BJP-led NDA government.

Speaking to ANI, Madhav said, “The Opposition can keep on dreaming day and night till May 23. By 12 pm on that day, their dream will not come true. We will wait for the exact results. But, I am confident that we will get a bigger mandate than what exit polls are showing”.

Ram Madhav was taking a dig at the Opposition which has downplayed the exit poll results citing that they went always wrong.

Ram Madhav said West Bengal will be a surprise for pollsters as the BJP is extremely confident of having showcased a greater performance there.

“Everyone has seen the tremendous outpouring of support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP in Bengal,” Madhav said adding that what UP did in 2014 will be repeated by West Bengal in 2019.

On Opposition’s move to form a grand alliance, Ram Madhav said “Mahagathbandhan had failed even before the election began. Many parties tried to create a ‘mahagathbandhan’ but failed to do so even in a single state.” He was referring to the efforts made by the Congress to forge an alliance with the SP and BSP in the state.

On Sunday, most exit polls conducted by different organisations gave the BJP-led NDA full majority, even as opposition parties are dismissing these predictions.

The majority mark is 272.

The seven-phased General Election concluded on Sunday. The votes will be counted on May 23 and the results will be declared on the same day.
