The National Security Guard (NSG) has taken charge to prevent potential terrorist threats at the Maha Kumbh Mela. Approximately 200 elite Black Cat commandos from the nation’s premier counter-terrorism force will be deployed at the event.

As of Monday, two teams, each comprising 50 members, have already arrived and assumed their duties, sources confirmed. The teams were transported via helicopters and have commenced surveillance operations to ensure the safety of the fair.

With specific intelligence regarding potential terrorist threats, additional security measures have been implemented this year to avert any incidents.

In total, four NSG teams, each consisting of 50 commandos, will oversee security at the fair. These highly trained commandos specialize in neutralizing terrorist threats and are capable of conducting night operations and anti-drone missions.

Officials highlighted that the NSG commandos come equipped with their own helicopters and are trained to neutralize enemies even without weapons.

Additionally, the K-9 squad of the NSG will be deployed. Known for their dual capabilities, these trained dogs can detect and neutralize Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) within moments and assist in post-explosion analysis.
