Army begins verification patrolling at Depsang: MEA
The Indian Army has commenced verification patrolling at Depsang, the second friction point between India and China in eastern Ladakh, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Lt Gen Ranbir Singh interacted with troops deployed on the Line of Control and complimented them for the high standard of professionalism displayed by them, despite the terrain and weather challenges.
Lt General Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding–in–Chief, Northern Command, on Saturday, visited forward posts in Western Ladakh and reviewed operational preparedness in the sector.
He was accompanied by Lt General YK Joshi, General Officer Commanding, Fire & Fury Corps.
Lt Gen Ranbir Singh interacted with troops deployed on the Line of Control and complimented them for the high standard of professionalism displayed by them, despite the terrain and weather challenges. He urged them to continue to discharge their duty with the same tenacity and resolve.

Lt Gen Ranbir Singh also paid homage at the Kargil War Memorial.
Lt Gen Ranbir Singh on Friday visited units and formations along the Line of Control and hinterland in North Kashmir. He was briefed by the commanders about the prevailing security situation. The Army Commander complimented the troops for their relentless efforts in thwarting the adversary’s designs. The Army Commander also lauded the exemplary synergy among all the forces, appreciated the actions taken by them in ensuring safety and well being of people residing in the vicinity of the Line of Control.
