The Border Security Force today organised a felicitation ceremony for the shooting team of Platoon Level Weapons and Anti-Sabotage Check Team of North Bengal Frontier at its headquarters at Kadamtala in Siliguri.
The inspector general of BSF North Bengal Frontier Soorya Kant Sharma felicitated both teams and wished them well for their grand endeavour.

Notably, the BSF organized 51st Inter Frontier Platoon Weapon Competition-2023 at Central School of Weapon & Tactics (CSWT), Madhya Pradesh (MP) from 12 to 17 February and 22nd Anti-Sabotage Check Competition at Training Centre & School (TC&S), Hazaribagh from 2 to 6 January.
North Bengal Frontier got the first position in the 51st Inter Frontier Platoon Weapon Competition 2023 at CSWT, Indore with 5 gold, 21 silver, 13 bronze medals, 9 trophies and the team was also honoured with the General Raina Trophy. Last year, this team secured the first position and the General Raina Trophy too.
A total of 11 teams of BSF Frontier from Kashmir, Jammu, Guwahati, Tripura, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Mizoram and Cachhar, South Bengal, North Bengal and Meghalaya Frontier were in the competitions, a senior BSF official said.
According to him, the shooting team consisted of 62 personnel, including seven mahila praharies while the Anti-Sabotage Checking Team consisted of seven personnel of different units under the North Bengal Frontier.
Besides the shooting team, the Anti-Sabotage Checking Team of North Bengal Frontier also ranked first in 22nd Anti-Sabotage Check Competition at TC&S, Hazaribagh with three gold, one silver and one bronze medals.
It may be mentioned, the BSF securing Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangladesh border since 1965 and has proven its mettle in Border Management as “First Line of Defence”.
