Nitish calls crucial NDA meeting ahead of assembly polls
Leaders of the JD(U), BJP and smaller partners Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha met at Kumar’s 1, Anne Marg residence for the meeting.
Athawale said that the BJP had warned Nitish in the past against going with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) as he would not be treated well there.
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Sunday asserted that JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar had taken the right decision to quit the opposition INDI Alliance (INDIA) and join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Addressing a press conference at Bhopal, Athawale said that the BJP had warned Nitish in the past against going with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) as he would not be treated well there.
“Nitish has now taken the right step to join (PM Narendra) Modi ji,” Athawale said and welcomed the JD(U) leader in the NDA fold.

The Union minister claimed that Narendra Modi would become the PM once again in 2024 and nobody would be able to stop his Vikas rath.
Athawale said that Nitish’s exit would serve as a big blow to the INDI Alliance.
He also derided Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing Nyay Yatra, and quipped that Rahul should rather take out a yatra to ‘unite the Congress’.
On Sunday, JD(U) president Nitish Kumar resigned as the Chief Minister of Bihar, saying that things were not working well for him in the Mahagathbandhan and the opposition INDI bloc.
Nitish also staked claim to form a new government with the BJP, which he had dumped less than 18 months ago.
