UP govt bans heaters and blowers to ensure fire safety at Mahakumbh 2025
The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced stringent measures to ensure a safe, fire-free Mahakumbh 2025.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) requested the Interpol to locate and arrest Nehal Modi who is a Belgian national.

Nehal lives in New York and was looking after Nirav’s business in US and Europe. He was the director of Firestar Diamond Inc and they filed for bankruptcy in the US just after they fled India.
Nirav Modi is the wanted fugitive in India in connection with the Rs 13,500 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case. He was arrested from Holborn on March 19 and is in jail in London. Since then he has been fighting extradition proceedings. His judicial custody ends on September 19.

Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi are being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation after the PNB alleged that they cheated it of Rs 13,500 crore with the involvement of some bank employees.
Modi also faces charges under the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act. The ED has filed a chargesheet against Choksi in a Prevention of Money Laundering Act Court in Mumbai.
Both fled India before details of the fraud emerged in January 2018.
