North Bengal BJP MLAs in Delhi to push for development
A delegation of 10 BJP MLAs from north Bengal is currently in Delhi, engaging with Union ministers to push for development initiatives and address key regional concerns.
Welcoming the Election Commission’s announcement of the Delhi polls, BJP chief J P Nadda on Tuesday urged the people of the national capital to choose a government that focuses on improving the standard of living, combating corruption, reducing pollution, and providing quality services to make everyday life easier.
In a post on ‘X’, he said, “I welcome the Election Commission of India’s announcement of the Delhi Assembly Elections.”

He said elections are the biggest festival of democracy, adding that they are a medium to keep the country and the state advancing on the path of development and good governance.

“I urge the people of Delhi to choose a government that focuses on improving the standard of living, combating corruption, reducing pollution and providing quality services to make everyday life easier,” the BJP chief said.
“Under the guidance of Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi ji, the BJP government has been continuously working towards the comprehensive development of Delhi and will further our efforts to turn the dream of a ‘Viksit Delhi’ into a reality,” Nadda further said in the post.
Earlier in the day, the ECI announced the schedule for the Delhi Assembly elections. The national capital will have a single-phase polling on February 5 and the counting on February 8.
The term of the 70-member Assembly ends on February 23, and elections have to be held before that to constitute a new House. The national capital has traditionally seen Assembly polls in a single phase.
The Assembly polls in the national capital will witness a three-cornered fight between the ruling AAP, and opposition BJP and Congress.
In the 2020 Assembly polls, the AAP won 62 Assembly seats and BJP won eight constituencies, while in 2015 polls, AAP bagged 67 seats and BJP won only three seats.The Congress drew a blank on both these occasions.
