BJP president J P Nadda launched a ‘Jan Aakrosh’ Rath Yatra here on Thursday against alleged failure of the Gehlot Government in the last four years of its rule. Sponsored by the BJP’s state unit, the yatra will cover all 200 assembly constituencies.
Nadda flagged off a well-decorated 51-Jan Aakrosh (public resentment) Raths (vehicles) painted in saffron colour at Ram Lila Maidan here in presence of Union ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Arjun Meghal. State party president Satish Poonia, former CM Vasundhara Raje along with two MPs and senior MLAs attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Nadda said the Centre has left no stone unturned in the development of Rajasthan and accused the Gehlot government of not allowing major schemes to be implemented. These schemes, he said, include the Ayushman Bharat and Bhamashah Annapurna Yojna.
He alleged poor management of the Central projects like National Highways projects apart from the five medical colleges, Jal Jeevan Mission and the vaccine programme.
Blaming Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for working just to placate the Congress high command, Nadda alleged that Rajasthan was the number one not only in corruption but also in high fuel prices, unemployment, woman and Dalit atrocities, cybercrime, communal tension in last four years.
He appealed to the party workers and leaders to wake up and approach the enraged public, hear their complaints so that the party could take on all such issues in next year’s assembly polls.
He also urged the people to vote for BJP in 2023 to help Rajasthan progress on all fronts.
He focused the popular flagship schemes of the NDA government at the Centre and said,”India is taking a new leap of development. Coming from on high. It has become the fifth economy in the world. Its exports rose to 17 percent”.
Claiming that Modi has written a new dimension of development, Nadda said the country supported 100 countries with vaccines to take these nations out of the blues of COVID pandemic.
In his address, state BJP president, Satish Poonia, said the Jan Aakrosh rally would focus the Gehlot government’s ‘Jangal Raj and Kushashan’ apart the fake promises to the farmers and youths in the name of crop loan waive and jobs. According to him, deteriorating law and order situation was deteriorating with growing crimes against woman. He further alleged continuing exploitaton on the SC/ST/OBC people and insufficient medical services.
With the Yatra, the BJP has a plan to reach out to 2 crore people by organising Chaupal, Nukkad sabha, and media conferences, said Poonis. In each assembly constituency at least 5000 people would participate in Rath Yatra to be concluded on December 14.
After his arrival Nadda visited a Gurudwara and a Ram Temple located near the Ram Lila Maidan.
