Controversial Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker Vinay Katiyar has stirred another storm by saying that Muslims should not live in India.
Katiyar was responding to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s demand that the Centre should introduce a law to penalise people if they call an Indian Muslim “Pakistani”. Owaisi had said that calling Indian Muslims Pakistanis was an insult, since they had rejected Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s two-nation theory and chose to stay in India.

Katiyar further said that India was partitioned into two countries on the basis of population and Muslims have got their country in return, hence they should go Pakistan or Bangladesh.
He also blamed Muslims for partition and asked for a law to punish those, who don’t respect Vande Mataram and the national flag.
“There should be a bill that punishes those who do not respect Vande Matram, those who insult the national flag… those who hoist the Pakistani flag, they should be punished,” Katiyar said.
On Monday, Katiyar, who founded the youth wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), said that Taj Mahal will soon become ‘Tej Mandir’ and will be built after a capable leader comes to power.
The 63-year-old Rajya Sabha member has been at the forefront of Ram Mandir campaign in Ayodhya.
