In an effort to strengthen interfaith bonds and pluralistic traditions of society for which Kashmir was known, Muslim men, women and children on Sunday joined the Christian community to celebrate the Christmas in freezing temperatures across the Valley.

The festival was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across the Kashmir Valley in below-freezing temperatures. Devotees, including women and children, joined the prayers in churches decorated on the occasion.
The main Christmas ceremony was held at Holy Family Catholic Church at Moulana Azad Road, Srinagar, where people attended the mass.
People belonging to different faiths greeted their Christian brethren on occasion.
Christmas was also celebrated in Gulmarg amidst snow. Reports of celebrations have also been received from Baramulla, Jammu, Leh and other places.
Meanwhile, Lt Governors of J&K and Ladakh, Manoj Sinha and RK Mathur and also J&K DGP Dilbag Singh have greeted the Christian community on X-Mass.
