Prez calls for empathy, not sympathy for upliftment of specially-abled
She was speaking after presenting the National Awards for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

President Droupadi Murmu, on Tuesday, dedicated a ‘Constitution Park’ to the nation. Built inside the campus of Raj Bhawan here, the park is the first of its kind in the country.
The President was received by Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and senior ministers at Jaipur International Airport with a warm welcome. From the airport, she went straight to Jai Jawan Jyoti Samark located outside the SMS Stadium.

Sitting on a golf car along with the Governor, the Murmu this forenoon took a view of the park adorned with a Peacock Pillar, Flag Post, Gandhi Statue, and Statue of Maharana Pratap on a horseback. The President, later, inaugurated the park by switching a screen on the ceremonial stone and then walked up to view every statue and artwork related to the Indian constitution. The Governor, the CM, Assembly Speaker Dr. C P Joshi, and UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal were among others who walked with the President.
Later in the day, the President will hold an interaction with Kathori and Sahariya tribal groups at Raj Bhawan. In the evening, she is scheduled to address a two-day conference of Braham Kumari Ishwariya Vishvidhyal, and tomorrow she will attend a Scout Guide Jamboori at Rohat in Pali district.
