At least three persons were killed and dozens more were injured after a massive hoarding collapsed in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area on Monday.
The incident took place at around 4.30 pm when a dust storm hit the financial capital.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that 57 individuals have been rescued from under the 100 feet tall hoarding that fell on a petrol pump.

The injured, he said, have been admitted to Rajawadi Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The Chief Minister said that he has instructed the municipal administration to investigate the incident and file a.case of culpable homicide against the culprits.

Rs 5 lakh has been announced to the relatives of the deceased in the accident and all the treatment of the injured will be done at the government expense. Also, to prevent such accidents from happening again, structural audit of all hoardings in Mumbai will be conducted and instructions have been given to remove dangerous hoardings immediately,” he wrote on X.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the hoarding was illegal and an action will be taken against the advertising company Ego Media for the incident.
The BMC Public Relations Office said that a complaint will be filed by registering an FIR under the Disaster Management Act.
