In a shocking incident, two young army officers were brutally assaulted, and one of their female friends was allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint near a picnic spot in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore.
According to reports, the incident occurred late on Tuesday night when the Army officers and two of their female friends were out for a picnic near the Chhoti Jam firing range.
As they were enjoying the outing, a group of men, armed with pistols and sticks surrounded them and thrashed the young officers.

The men allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh and asked one officer and a female companion to go and arrange the money.
The injured officer went straight to his command centre and narrated the incident to his superiors, who then informed the police.
When the police and senior Army officials reached the spot, the accused fled.
The two officers and their female friends were taken to hospital for medical where doctors reportedly confirmed one of the women was raped.
Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections and arrested two suspects involved in the attack, while the hunt is on for the third accused.
The incident has triggered a massive public outrage, with the Opposition Congress slamming the BJP government for “almost non-existent” law and order in the state.
Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi said the incident is enough to shame the entire society and blamed the BJP government for the audacity of the criminals.
“The violence against two army soldiers and the rape of their female companion in Madhya Pradesh is enough to shame the entire society,” he said, adding, “this audacity of the criminals is a result of the total failure of the administration and the unsafe environment prevailing in the country due to this is a restriction on the freedom and aspirations of the daughters of India.”
