Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday over the arrest of former Ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain.

Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said, “The PM has thrown patriots like Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain in jail on the one hand, and embraced a person because of whom the country has suffered immense economic losses.”

The AAP supremo announced that he would pray for the country tomorrow, during Holi celebration, highlighting that he is not worried about Satyendra Jain and Manish Sisodia, but about the state of the country.

“A country where the prime minister jails people who provide good education and good health facilities to people and supports those who rob the country, it is worrying,” Kejriwal said.

“On Holi, I have decided to meditate and pray for the country. If you also believe that what the country has come to is worrying, if you think that what PM Modi is doing is wrong, then I urge you too to do the same after playing Holi,” CM added.

Terming his ministers as “brave”, Kejriwal said, “They can die for the country. No one can break their resolve. I am worried about the common man. There is no one to work for the common man or listen to the common man.”

Highlighting his minister’s work, Kejriwal said, “After 75 years, if there is a person who has given the poorest the kind of education that was available only to the rich. That person is Manish Sisodia. Government hospitals across the country were in a bad shape. After 75 years of independence, a person who changed the face of health facilities and provided a new health model with mohalla clinics. That person is Satyendar Jain. But they are thrown in jail on false charges.”

Satyendar Jain was arrested in May last year in a corruption case while Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 in connection with alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy. Both ministers quit the Delhi cabinet last week.
