‘Victory and defeat are an integral part of life. Today’s results will further our resolve to serve people and work even harder for the development of India’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday night congratulated the Congress on its victory in the Assembly polls and said the BJP accepted the people’s mandate with humility.
In a tweet, Modi also congratulated Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the landslide win of his party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi, and Mizo National Front (MNF) for its victory in Mizoram.

Modi, however, praised the BJP workers, saying they worked day and night and that he saluted their hard work.
“Victory and defeat are an integral part of life. Today’s results will further our resolve to serve people and work even harder for the development of India,” Modi said.
In another tweet, he said, “Congratulations to the Congress for their victories. Congratulations to KCR Garu for the thumping win in Telangana and to the Mizo National Front (MNF) for their impressive victory in Mizoram.”

The PM thanked the people of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for giving the BJP the opportunity to serve.
“The BJP governments in these states worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people,” Modi said.
BJP president Amit Shah too congratulated K Chandrasekhar Rao, the only chief minister who looks set to come back after the Assembly elections 2018.
While BJP has lost Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh to Congress, it is locked in a cliffhanger with the Congress in Madhya Pradesh. Congress has lost Mizoram, its last bastion in the Northeast and a state it had been ruling for the last 10 years.
