A militant was killed on Monday in an ongoing gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Badgam district.
As per Police official, The Army’s Rashtriya Rifles, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) of state police launched a cordon and search operation in Kaneera village after inputs about the presence of militants.
As the searches were being conducted, the militants hiding in the village opened fire on the forces, triggering off a gunfight.

“One militant has been killed in this ongoing operation so far. Initial reports said two to three militants were hiding in the village,” a police official said.
A police officer while confirming the incident said that so far a militant has been killed in an ongoing operation.
