West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to release the list of TMC candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections during her mega ‘Jonogorjon Sabha’ rally at Brigade Ground in Kolkata on Sunday.

Ahead of the big rally, Banerjee said that Bengal’s patience & courtesy should not be mistaken for its weakness and added that “Bohiragoto Jomidars” will be reminded this on Sunday.

“Bengal’s patience & courtesy should NOT be mistaken for its weakness. The Bohiragoto Jomidars must be reminded of this on March 10. The Jonogorjon Sabha at Brigade Ground this Sunday will be a historic event on the land that has always fought for its rights. Join us as we lead the people’s movement for Bengal’s secure future,” she wrote on ‘X’.

The Brigade Ground rally is also likely to have a bearing on the future of Opposition’s INDIA alliance. Banerjee had openly said it on more than one occassions that TMC will not give a single seat to the Congress in West Bengal after the grand old party rejected it’s two-seat offer.

However, the Congress party has so far maintained that talks are still on and that Banerjee is an important pillars of INDIA alliance.

The Congress party has announced its seat sharing arrangement with Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, DMK in Tamil Nadu, and with AAP in Delhi, Haryana, Goa and Gujarat.

According to sources, an alliance with Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SCP) in Maharashtra is also more or less final, so is with RJD in Bihar and National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir.

However, a decision could not be reached in West Bengal. It is likely that Banerjee will announce candidates in all the 42 Lok Sabha seats.

Meanwhile, the BJP has taken a dig at Banerjee and called the Brigade Ground event her party’s “farewell rally”.
