The Chhattisgarh government is mulling a special action plan for the repair and maintenance of school buildings, ashrams and hostels across the state.
Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has asked officials to prepare a detailed plan for repair and maintenance work of government schools, hostels and ashrams.
He has also asked them to include other government buildings such as Collectorate, Sub-Divisional and Tehsil offices, Police Stations and Police Outposts where a large number of people visit.
The Chief Minister Baghel has asked the Chief Secretary to prepare a plan for repair and maintenance of educational institutions and other government buildings and has asked to present it in the upcoming Cabinet meeting.
The Chief Minister further said that after the formation of the state of Chhattisgarh, no attention was paid to the repair work of school buildings, ashrams and hostels due to which many school buildings were facing difficulties in terms of infrastructure.
He said that before the commencement of the next academic session, it is necessary to upgrade, repair and maintain the schools, ashrams and hostel buildings. Similarly, there is a need for repair, maintenance and arrangement of other government buildings.
Baghel also announced Mukhyamantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana to promote wood-based industries by encouraging tree plantation on private land. Wood based industries will lead to income generation and employment opportunities, he said.
The Chief Minister has instructed officials to prepare a proposal to implement the promotion of commercial tree plantation on private land under the scheme.
