The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief called on the governments of both states to maintain peace.
Expressing concern over the violence in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, and Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati demanded that the governments of both states should maintain peace.
In a couple of posts on social media on Saturday, Mayawati said, “The violence in Haldwani of Uttarakhand state and the loss of life and property in it is extremely worrying. If the government, administration, and intelligence system had been alert, this incident could have been prevented. The government should conduct a high-level investigation and also maintain peace.”
The BSP chief further said, “In Bareilly of UP adjoining Uttarakhand, there is a situation of tension every day due to some issue or the other, which should be controlled by the government in time so that peace is maintained here too.”
