“It would be in the fitness of things that if on January 26, 2020, all three of them are honoured with the Bharat Ratna,” read the letter.
In his tweet, he also requested the PM to name Chandigarh Airport located in Mohali in memory of Bhagat Singh.
At the end of the letter, he said that this step will touch the hearts and soul of 124 crore Indians.
Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev are well known and respected freedom fighters of India who were hanged by the ruling Britishers on 23rd March 1931. The death sentence of the trio had triggered massive protest in the country as the Britishers, hanged the freedom fighters a day before the scheduled execution. Their dead bodies were also buried by the Britishers in secret as they were scared that if they handover the dead bodies to their families then they might stage a huge protest against them.
The trio has been the heroic figure for the country especially among youth, who are inspired to serve the nation in the same manner as they did.
23rd March is celebrated as the ‘Shaheed Diwas’ in memory of died freedom fighters.
