A 32-year-old, who had fled after stabbing his sister-in-law, was later discovered lying injured near railway tracks near the Delhi Cantt railway station, police said on Thursday.

According to the police, a PCR call was received at police station Kapashera regarding the murder of women. A team was rushed to the spot that recovered the body with stab marks from the spot.

The cops discovered that the 29-year-old Rita Yadav had been murdered by her brother-in-law Shivam Yadav, who had been absconding after the murder. The spot was inspected by the crime and FSL team and exhibits were collected from the spot, added the police.

A case of murder under relevant sections of BNS was registered and an investigation was initiated into the matter.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the accused had illicit relationship with the deceased and they had a quarrel on Wednesday night and in anger Shivam stabbed her, said an official.

The deceased used to work as a receptionist while her husband works in an online shopping company. The alleged accused too worked in the same company as his brother, added the official.

On Thursday at 8:30 am, another information was received from Delhi Cantt Railway police Station that one unknown person was found injured on a railway track near Bijwasan Railway Station who has been admitted in Safdarjung Hospital.

After inquiry, was identified as accused Shivam. He is in critical condition and undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The police are trying to identify whether the accused was hit by a train or somebody attacked him and dropped him near the tracks.
