Rahul reiterates his commitment to legal guarantee to MSP, caste census

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that if the Congress forms the government at the Centre, it will provide legal guarantee to Minimum Support Price ( MSP) to farmers and conduct a caste based census across the country.

Mr Gandhi addressed large gatherings at Morena and Gwalior today evening after his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ entered Madhya Pradesh this afternoon.

Launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government, Gandhi said that Modi had waived off the loans worth Rs 16 lakh crore of 10-15 industrialists but was not giving the rightful MSP to farmers.

He emphasized that caste based census would be a revolutionary step in ensuring justice and equality to a big section of the poor and backward classes.

The Congress leader attacked the Modi government over the Agniveer scheme. He alleged that Agniveer soldiers were not getting the status of martyr and other facilities even if they make the supreme sacrifice for the country.

Naming industrialist Gautam Adani, Mr Gandhi charged that there is a monopoly of only 5-6 industrialists in every sector.

He alleged that the BJP and the RSS were spreading hatred in the country. Mr Gandhi asserted that his yatra is to ensure social, economic and political justice in the country
