The BJP released its first list of 177 candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls slated to be held on November 28 dropping more than a fourth of its siting MLAs to reduce the impact of anti-incumbency in the state which it has ruled for the past 15 years.
According to reports, about 27 sitting MLAs have been dropped in Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would contest from his traditional Budhni Assembly constituency in Vidhisha district, the party said as it denied ticket to sitting MLA and Minister in the state government Maya Singh.
Of the 177 constituencies for which candidates were announced, 128 are held by the BJP. In 34 of these, it has changed its candidates. The remaining 49 are not held by the BJP, and in 27 of these, the BJP has fielded new candidates.
The BJP declared its second list with 17 candidates, fielding Lok Sabha member Anoop Mishra, who is the nephew of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Mishra, the Lok Sabha MP from Morena, will contest from Bhitarwar in Gwalior district.
The BJP announced its third list for the polls with 32 candidates, fielding Akash Vijayvargiya, the son of the party’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, from Indore-3 seat and former minister Rakesh Choudhry from Bhind.
There are 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, where the saffron party has been in power since 2003 and Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been the chief minister from November 2005.
Counting of votes would take place on December 11.
