The Congress in Punjab is all set to form government as forefront runner in the soon to be officially announced outcome of Punjab Assembly election 2017, as per reports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Capt Amarinder Singh to congratulate him on his poll victory, and also, assured full support in the state's development. "Spoke to @capt_amarinder & congratulated him on the win in Punjab," Modi tweeted.
It is a double celebration for Capt Amarinder Singh as March 11 also happens to be his 75th birthday, besides the favourable result in th Punjab Assembly election 2017. The final and official declaration of the much anticipated Punjab Assembly election results 2017 will be out in any moment.
An overwhelmed Congress Chief Ministerial candidate Capt Amainder Singh thanked the people as the party emerges as winner in the state. "Grateful to the people of Punjab for their overwhelming support! With this verdict, it's time to bring back the heydays of Punjab!," tweeted Capt Amarinder Singh.
Going by reports, Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress party has scored 77 seats, ahead of AAP and the SAD-BJP alliance. AAP has scored 20, while SAD-BJP alliance has scored 18.
