RJD chief Lalu Prasad, who is serving jail terms in connection with fodder scam cases, has been granted a five-day parole to attend his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav’s wedding later this week.
Currently, Lalu Prasad is undergoing treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital in the Jharkhand capital of Ranchi after being shifted from New Delhi’s AIIMS on May 1.

According to media reports, Lalu Prasad will be flown to Patna on Wednesday evening.
Former state minister Tej Pratap got engaged to Bihar’s former Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai’s granddaughter Aishwarya Rai in a grand ceremony at a 5-star hotel in Patna on 18 April. The couple will tie the knot on 12 May at Veterinary College ground in Patna.
Tej Pratap Yadav and Aishwarya Rai had exchanged rings in the presence of family and friends in the absence of Lalu Prasad.
After coming back from Delhi, Lalu Prasad was admitted to the cardiac ward of the RIMS in Ranchi. He was discharged from AIIMS as doctors said there was “significant improvement” in his condition.
Prasad, however, alleged a “political conspiracy” behind his discharge.
In a letter to the director of AIIMS, the RJD supremo had said doctors should not act under pressure from “certain individuals or political parties”.
Prasad has been convicted in four fodder scam cases since 2013 — the latest being the Dumka treasury case, in which a special CBI court sentenced him to 14 years in jail.
