The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police arrested the leader of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terror outfit, Asadullah SK, from Chennai on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, the STF picked up 35-year-old Asadullah SK alias Raja from a rented house in Canalpuram’s AA Nagar of Tamil Nadu’s capital.

Cases under various sections of the Indian Penal Code related to criminal conspiracy and waging war against India or any of its neighbours have been filed against Asadullah. He will be produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate, Alandur for transit remand, the source said.
According to India Today, this is a second arrest made by Kolkata police after week when another JMB member, 22-year-old Mohammed Abul Kashem alias Kashem was arrested from Canal East Road in north Kolkata.
The central government had declared Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh a banned terrorist organisation in May this year.
