The court also directed the SIT to consider the grievances of the petitioner mentioned in the petition and look into the possibility of homicidal hanging. The court also said the SIT should file the final report only after it is vetted and approved by the DIG.

Naveen Babu’s wife Manjusha  filed the petition before the High Court seeking a CBI probe into the death of her husband, alleging that the present probe is not going in the right direction.

Responding to the court order, Manjusha said,” We are not satisfied with the court order. We will file and appeal against the single bench order. All the facts have been produced before the court. This is not the expected order.”

ADM Naveen Babu was found dead in his official quarters at Pallikkunnu in Kannur  on the morning of October 15 last year. He allegedly took his life after facing public humiliation and corruption accusations made by P P Divya, then president of Kannur district panchayat, at a farewell meeting on October 14.
