The Enforcement Directorate will raid Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house and subsequently arrest him, his Aam Aadmi Party claimed on Thursday.

“We had come to know from solid sources that there is going to be a raid on Arvind Kejriwal ji’s house, he is going to be arrested,” AAP leader Jasmine Shah claimed hours after the Delhi CM evaded third ED summons.

“Even before the arrest of Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh ji, BJP leaders had started saying that they would be arrested. Now BJP leaders have started saying that Arvind Kejriwal ji will also be arrested,” Shah said, adding that the arrest warrants are issued from the BJP office.

The startling claims from the Aam Aadmi Party came after Kejriwal refused to appear before the central probe agency for questioning in the Delhi liquor policy case.

Kejriwal was summoned for interrogation on January 3 for the third time but he skipped  the summons yet again, terming it “illegal”.

Earlier, the AAP national convenor was summoned on November 2 and December 21 but he didn’t appear, questioning the legal validity of the probe agency’s notices.

Why AAP is claiming Kejriwal will be arrested?

AAP ministers and Kejriwal’s trusted lieutenants Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj on Wednesday night claimed that ED might launch an early morning raid at the Delhi CM’s residence and that he will be arrested after the raids.

The Aam Aadmi Party claimed that the Delhi Police has increased security in front of Kejriwal’s house and roads leading to his residence have been blocked. The party alleged this was a preparation for his likely arrest.

However, the Delhi police has reportedly denied these allegations and termed the security enhancement outside his residence as routine deployment.

Kejriwal was not named as an accused in the FIR filed by the CBI on August 17, last year. In February 2023, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI for alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of the now-scrapped Delhi’s excise policy.

The AAP alleged that the ED’s intention behind the summons was to arrest the Delhi CM on the directions of the ruling BJP.
