Army begins verification patrolling at Depsang: MEA
The Indian Army has commenced verification patrolling at Depsang, the second friction point between India and China in eastern Ladakh, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
An unidentified militant was killed on Friday in a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Rashtriya Rifles, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned off an orchard field in Kangan following information that some militants were hiding there, the Army said.
According to the Army official, as the security forces closed in on the target house, the militant opened fire. The forces retaliated the firing triggering a gun battle.

A militant was killed after a brief encounter. one firearm has been recovered from the scene of the gunbattle, an official added.
As the encounter started, locals poured out of their homes and clashes with security forces, media reports reaching here said.
