Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other Cabinet ministers have recieved death threats from unknown persons. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police has registered a case in this regard and investigation is being carried out.

The death threat to Siddaramaiah and his Cabinet ministers came days after a bomb blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru. At least nine persons were injured after a low intensity blast at the cafe.

The suspect, aged around 28-30, reportedly ordered Rava Idali from the restaurant and left a bag at around 12 PM. About an hour ago at 12:56, the blast rocked the popular eatery, and left at least nine people injured.

In other CCTV footages, the suspect can be seen entering the restaurant with a bag, in which the authorities believe he carried the explosive.

According to the preliminary investigation, an improvised explosive device (IED) of low intensity contained in a steel tiffin box was used in the blast.

While it is not yet clear what explosive material was used in the blast, some reports suggested the low intensity blast might have used a combination of easily available explosive material.

The nature of the blast is said be similar to the one used by Islamic State terrorists. Similar material was used in the explosive device that exploded in an auto rickshaw in Mangaluru in 2022.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that the suspect came in a bus, fixed the timer and exploded the device carried in a bag.
