Congress Rajya Sabha member Digvijaya Singh has told party workers that Kamal Nath would be the face for the next CM candidate of the Congress in the upcoming State Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh at the end of this year.
Reacting to Singh’s statement, MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan retorted today that Kamal Nath’s ‘param kalyan’ is now certain. Chouhan quipped that it is a well-established fact that on whosoever’s shoulders Digvijaya Singh puts his hand, it spells doom for that person.

Singh took meetings of Congress workers and office bearers of the Mandals and sectors of the party in these constituencies. It was here that he told the party workers that Kamal Nath would be the next CM of the state if the Congress wins the assembly polls again.
In response to Singh’s statement, Chouhan averred that no one really knows what Singh says and what is actually in his mind. The MP CM added that even in the past whenever Singh has appreciated someone, the outcome for that person has always been negative only.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan also said that in the Cabinet meeting on the state’s excise policy, it has been decided that all the ahaatas and shop bars attached with liquor shops in the state would be closed down from the coming financial year.
The MP CM said that all such public drinking places have been prohibited with the aim to stop public nuisance and crimes, particularly against women and girls, which are, and can be, committed by anti-social elements and even other people who are in an intoxicated condition.
