The Budget Session of the Delhi Assembly will commence from March 17 and will conclude on March 23. The budget for the year 2023-24 will be presented on March 21.
Cabinet Minister Kailash Gahlot will present the budget in the Assembly after the former Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia has been arrested in the liquor policy case.
After Manish Sisodia resigned from the Delhi Cabinet, his departments were allocated to Cabinet colleagues – Kailash Gahlot and Raaj Kumar Anand till the new Ministers were not inducted into the Cabinet.
On March 2, Gahlot took charge of his newly-allocated departments. He also held meetings with Secretaries and Commissioners concerned.
In a statement on Thursday, Gahlot had said, “Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, we are working on a war footing to present a citizen centric and progressive budget.”
“I would like to assure the Delhiites that the upcoming budget will prove to be a milestone in achieving the goals of making Delhi a world class city for its citizens.”
Furthermore, the Cabinet Minister said, “We will take forward the good works done in various fields by this government in the last 8 years. Presenting a people-friendly budget is our priority and we are working towards it.”
