TN Electricity Minister denies commercial ties with Adani conglomerate
This is the first reaction of the DMK government following the indictment of the Adani conglomerate in a US court.
The action was taken during a march towards organized by the Congress in support of their demand for a JPC probe into the Adani scam.
J&K Congress President Vikar Rasool Wani and working president Raman Bhalla, along with several other party activists, were on Monday taken into custody by the police when they marched towards the Raj Bhavan here demanding a JPC probe into the Adani row.
They were accompanied by Tara Chand, former deputy chief minister and former legislators Indu Pawar, Yogesh Sawhney, Balwan Singh, Gurubachan Kumari , Krishan Bhagat , Ashok Dogra, TS Bajwa and Ved Mahajan, Congress leaders raising slogans against the government.
Wani and Bhalla, along with others, were detained and taken to police control room where they were released after a brief time.

Wani alleged that the government was suppressing the media. He said that the central government’s policy of crony capitalism in favour of the Adani group, under which vital infrastructure of the country was being sold to the Adani group at the time of deep economic crisis in the country and public institutions like SBI and LIC were being forced to invest in the Adani group putting at risk the savings of the poor and middle class.
