J&K CEO: MCMC to pre-certify political all ads during polls
The J&K chief electoral officer (CEO) on Monday ordered precertification of all political advertisements by any registered political party or any contesting candidate by the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) before telecast or broadcast on TV and cable network in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directions and the Election Commission of India’s guidelines.
According to a notification issued by the CEO, the pre-certification will also include advertisements to be displayed in cinema halls, radio including private FM channels, audio-visual displays in public places, advertisements in e-newspapers, use of bulk SMS and voice messages, advertisements on social media and internet websites.

Any violation by the concerned in this regard shall be viewed seriously and action as warranted shall be initiated against the violators.
In a public notice, the CEO ordered that no person shall print or publish, or cause to be printed or published, any election pamphlet or poster which does not bear on its face the names and addresses of the printer and the publisher thereof.
