Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed satisfaction over the achievements of Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).
”This scheme has not only taken out the worries of crores of people of the country regarding the cost of treatment but has also made their lives easier,” Modi said responding to the tweet thread by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Mandaviya informed that today, the fifth ”Jan Aushadhi Diwas” was being celebrated in the country. This scheme has made a direct positive impact on the lives of the common people of India. ”More than 12 lakh citizens of the country are buying medicines from Jan Aushadhi Kendras daily. The medicines available here are 50 to 90 per cent cheaper than the market price,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, Union Minister for Labour and Employment and Environment Bhupender Yadav today said more than 9,000 ”Jan Aushadhi Kendras” have been opened across the country by the central government to make health facilities accessible to all.
Addressing a ”Jan Aushdhi Diwas 2023” programme here, he said medicines were available at these centers at low prices, due to which the public was getting relief from the burden of expensive medicines.
Also, keeping in view the convenience of women, the availability of sanitary pads at cheap rates was being ensured by the government at these Jan Aushadhi Kendras. Yadav said the Modi Government was aiming to increase the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras to 10,000 in the country by the end of the year.
