Jaipur International Airport has installed a 2D barcode reader at the entry gate of Terminal 2 building for hassle free movement of passengers.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel manning the terminal entry gate will now scan the barcodes instead of manually checking the flight tickets or boarding passes in the mobiles.

This will help prevent the congestion at the entry gate during peak hours and during holiday seasons. It will also save an average time of 20-25 seconds per passenger, while entering the terminal building.
The 2D barcode scanner is installed at departure entry as a pilot while three more scanners will be installed soon to improve passenger experience.
The 2D scanners also prevent passengers from entering the terminal using fake or cancelled flight tickets thus enhancing the security. Passengers who use the web check-in feature before arriving at the airport will benefit from expedited check-in process and avoid potential delays. Boarding passes can be scanned in digital and hard copy format. Pax will also have to show their government ID card as earlier.
The airport has also continually strived to develop the latest technology that allows free flow of passengers, an Airport media official said here today. Prior to this, three e-boarding gates have already been installed inside the terminal building. This has significantly reduced the security check timings per pax in the security hold area.
